Tesla Announced Arrival of Next-Gen Vehicle in 2025, Predicting Explosive Growth Ahead”

Elon Musk recently shared some exciting insights about Tesla’s upcoming next-gen vehicle, which they’re calling “Redwood” internally. During the fourth-quarter earnings call, Musk highlighted not only the unique design of the vehicle but also its revolutionary manufacturing process. Although he made it clear that the call wasn’t primarily focused on future production, he dropped some hints that have sparked a lot of buzz and discussions.

Elon Musk shared some exciting details about the new Tesla vehicle, codenamed “Redwood,” highlighting its groundbreaking manufacturing system. According to Musk, this system is leaps and bounds ahead of any other in the automotive world, making it next-level technology.

In terms of when we can expect to see this innovative vehicle on the roads, Musk, known for his optimism, provided a realistic yet confident timeline. He mentioned, “Our current plan is to kick off production in the latter part of 2025, probably in the second half. But keep in mind, there’s a ton of cutting-edge manufacturing tech involved here.”

The first stop for “Redwood” production will be Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, instead of the initially planned location in Mexico. Musk explained the strategic move, saying, “Having this revolutionary manufacturing line in Giga Texas makes sense because our engineers need to be right there on the line. It’s not a one-size-fits-all kind of setup. Having it in Austin just makes it easier for our Tesla engineering team.” After Austin, the second production site is set for Mexico, and they’re exploring options for a third location outside North America by the end of this year or early next year.

Musk talked about the ins and outs of how company  is making the tesla next-gen vehicle, shedding light on both the hurdles and the cool stuff they’re figuring out. Musk admitted that predicting how the manufacturing process will unfold is tricky. He explained, “It’s a bit like a rollercoaster—starts off slow, but then it really takes off. Forecasting the in-between stages is tough, and I won’t make any firm guesses about how many cars we’ll crank out next year.”

Tesla’s CFO, Vaibhav Taneja, gave us the lowdown on where Tesla’s headed. Right now, they’re kind of in the middle of two big waves of growth. The first wave was all about spreading Models 3 and Y worldwide, and the next one is expected to kick in with the new-gen vehicle. Taneja pointed out that in 2024, they might not see crazy growth numbers because the team is putting their energy into getting this awesome new platform off the ground.
